Ausente tells the story of 16-year-old Martin, who manoeuvres his way into staying the night at his swimming teacher’s house, and the consequent fall out from the lies that brought him there. It is at once mesmerising and claustrophobic, sexy and stony cold. The two lead actors play out the story with looks more than words.
