Polari Magazine on The World Radio
At the start of the London 2012 Olympics, Polari Magazine joined Clayton Littlewood at the BBC’s new building in Portland Place to talk about the meaning of the slang Polari.
The World is a one-hour, weekday radio news magazine featuring a mix of news, features, interviews, and music. It’s a co-production of WGBH/Boston, Public Radio International and the BBC World Service designed to provide global perspectives for an American audience. We met up with The World’s Alex Gallafent to talk about what Polari means and where it came from. Alex also interviews the wonderful actor David Benson, and he talks about Kenneth Williams and the BBC radio series Round the Horne.
You can listen to the Polari segment on The World Website.
