Bring on the Parade!
Sabrina Chap talking about We Are The Parade, November 2011:
‘We Are The Parade’ is a big gay anthem. “Well you think you wanna marry me, come on take my hand, it’s a long walk to equality so let’s strike the band up”. It’s all about gay rights. ‘The Denial Rag’ is just as gay as hell but it’s all about denying it.
In December, Polari published an interview with the talented and brilliant Sabrina Chap. It was so great that snippets went into the podcast, too.
Her first album, Oompa!, is just glorious. She has been working on her second album, We Are The Parade, but to get it out there in the big world she needs a little help. This is how she explains it on the website Indie Go Go:
I really want this campaign to happen because it will allow me to get this CD out there without going crazy. No. Really. Up until this point I’ve done everything myself – videos, booking, publicity, press, web design, et cetera. I’m straight up not sitting at the piano anymore, but constantly working on getting this stuff out there. I believe this CD is a good one- and that once I’m able to finish it and get it out there properly, I’ll have a chance of making a solid entrance as a solo artist.
Follow the link, and help her out. Sabrina is an artist who deserves our support, and who should be in the record collection of every Polari reader!
