………………………………………………………………………………………….
Polari favourite Sabrina Chap is in town with her incredible book Live Through This, a life-enhancing collection of writings about creativity and self-destruction. The second edition of Live Through This (with new introduction by Amanda Palmer) is a collection of original stories, essays, artwork, and photography, Nan Goldin, Eileen Myles, bell hooks, and other cutting-edge artists explore their use of art to survive madness, abuse, incest, depression, and the impulse toward self-destruction manifest in eating disorders, cutting, addiction, and contemplation of suicide. The book confronts the brutality many women and girls encounter in the world around them, and bravely takes as its subject the often misunderstood violence they at times inflict upon themselves.
Come and see Sabrina read from and talk about the book, and join in the discussion, hosted by Charlotte Cooper. There will be opportunities to buy books and merchandise, and hang out at the fantastic Feminist Library.
£4 donation if you’ve got it, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
