A Polari Magazine exclusive, Marcus Reeves’ album Quicksilver streamed before its release on November 5.
After four years work and plenty of blood, sweat and tears (not to mention glitter), Marcus Reeves’ debut album Quicksilver – The Masquerade Macabre will finally be released on November 5th – an auspicious date for dramatic plots and spooky goings on.
This collection of thirteen songs makes up a concept album that Marcus describes as ‘a sonic threesome between Aladdin Sane, Hedwig and The Phantom of the Opera’. Told through the eyes of Reeves’ alter-ego ‘Quicksilver’ it touches on love, lust, loss and loneliness combining rock, pop and ‘nouveaux cabaret’ (as recently described by Vince Clarke of Erasure!).
The CD version of the album comes in the form of a book that includes thirty-two pages of lyrics, photography by Robert Piwko and artwork by Polari Magazine designer Bryon Fear. None of these images will ever be made available online, so it’s a real treat for collectors.
This exclusive stream of the album will be available on Polari Magazine online for one week only, prior to its official release.
