From B&B Christians to that complete Tweet James Arthur, Mat Hill calls out 2013’s Top 5 Ho Ho Homophobia.

Well of course it has to be ‘#… no no no Putin… Tyrant to the Russian Queens’ Russian President Putin. Fed up with homosexuals promoting in the street and signing up the youth to join the Queer Army (we aren’t much good when it comes to a fight, but we look fabulous in a uniform), Putin has a ban put on our recruitment drive.
By doing so he gives a green light to queer bashing and homophobia on a national level. And a perfect diversion from anything else going on in the government.
If only Coke had some real bottle.

James Arthur…
Needs no comment.
Wish he had the same sense.

No, not that one.. The other Tom… Young Tom Daley took to YouTube to say he had a boyfriend. And more importantly that he was happy.
Some said it was obvious, but I suspect it was just wishful thinking.
Many said it was brave, and indeed it was as the vile comments online in response showed all too clearly.
Either way, having a good role model making clear positive statements in the media is wonderful, and I hope many more follow the example. Closets are for clothes!

Hazelmary and Peter Bull refused to let civil partners Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall stay in a double room at Chymorvah House in Marazion in Cornwall in 2008.
Despite losing their case at county court and the court of appeal, in November they took the case to Supreme Court. And again lost.
It wasn’t a clear cut case as they claimed their beliefs meant that they were against all couples sharing a bed in their establishment. But the wiff of homophobia was hard to ignore.
In the end, common sense wins through. If you run a business then it is your duty is to treat ALL customers respectfully and equally – isn’t that the Christian thing to do?
Polari Magazine Makes Front Page News
……………………………………………………………………………………………………
It was hoped that Polari Magazine would one day make people sit up and take notice, but no one predicted that in 2013 it would be make the front page of the Independent due to its editor and his partner being victim of a possible homophobic attack the very same week that the equal marriage act was being debated.
The attack was horrendous. But the timing as perfect, as only a homosexual’s wit can be, and Christopher Bryant took the horrific experience and flipped it to speak out publicly about the growth of homophobia, and how the language used to debate in the Houses of Parliament did not help the real subject of the debate: equality.
